Organizations have control systems for behaviors, costs, prices, information, decisions, financial performance, production, quality and so forth. We can classify them with respect of the type of "organizational system performance" they are attempting to control or manage. Productivity being an important component of organizational system performance measures, although much attention has been paid to productivity, is still one of the most confusing concepts of the management area. This thesis covers a systematic approach for productivity measurement, evaluation and improvement; analyzing profitability as a function of productivity and price recovery. Selected methodology for productivity measurement is tested on an existing company in the Glass Industry. An interactive package is designed as a Decision Support System for managers who are not accustomed to use computers, and they are· allowed to make scenerio analysis for future applications. |
