dc.description.abstract The aim of this work is to study existing constitutive models for shape-memory alloys and to implement them to nite elements. Fracture behavior in Mode-I and mixed-mode is studied and, for this purpose, a 2-D edge cracked shape-memory alloy plate is discretized and UMAT interface of Abaqus, with di erent constitutive models is used. Phase transformation stress distributions around the crack tip are studied in detail for di erent amounts of loadings, and crack lengths. Results are tabulated and plotted to show the di erences between di erent models. The e ect of stress induced phase transformation is also studied.
