dc.description.abstract This study investigates a particular phenomenon, the Exchange of Populations between Greece and Turkey in 1923 and its impact on the social and economic life of the city of Adana. It proposes the comparison of the economic and social life of the city before and after the Exchange of Populations, between the years of 1830-1927. It also focuses on the repercussions of the Exchange of Populations on the Turkish public; it particularly examines the approach of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and Turkish media to the Exchange of Populations issue.
